Bio

Nadine is a nationally recognized mathematics teacher educator who has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and led the work of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators in developing national standards for preparing K-12 mathematics teachers.

Themes of her professional work have included professional development, equity, preservice mathematics methods courses, and rational numbers. Nadine has conducted research on the effective teaching of rational numbers and on mathematics teacher enhancement activities aimed at assisting teachers to focus on children's thinking and to help all students succeed in mathematics. Her recent interests lie in (1) developing and conducting professional development to support teachers in enhancing their teaching to help all students succeed in mathematics and (2) developing programs for Elementary Mathematics Specialists.
